NASHVILLE - Nashville’s Society of Leaders in Development (SOLID) is bringing a new era of karaoke to Music Row, SOLID's first ever 'Rock Band and Karaoke Challenge' debuts at 12th & Porter on March 25, 2009. This year’s event will benefit Musicians On Call, an organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.
Music Row companies will form their own 'Rock Bands' to compete for the title of Rock Stars of Music Row. A donation of $50 is being asked for each Rock Band that enters the competition.
Doors will open at 6pm with all events starting at 7 pm. For those not participating in the Rock Band Challenge admission will be $5 per person for those who are willing to be "challenged" to sing Karaoke, and $10 per person for those who prefer to only watch the festivities. In order to "challenge" someone to sing, the challenger(s) must offer a pledge amount, designate a song to be performed, and select a person to sing that song. The selected person has the option of paying the pledge amount set by the challenger(s) or singing the song, and it is all in the name of fun and fund-raising. So, if you have a friend or co-worker who you want to hear sing, bring them out and put your money where their mouth is! It is sure to be a good time and will benefit Musicians On Call.
This is going to be a great event. Even if you don't plan on playing ROCK BAND or doing any Karaoke we still need YOUR support. Come out and enjoy a night with friends and colleagues.
We will be giving away TWO Rock Band games. One as a door prize and the other to the winning ROCK BAND!!!
