Frank Liddell grew up in Houston, Texas, attended boarding schools in Massachusetts and Virginia and went back to the University of Texas in Austin before moving to Nashville in 1990 to work for Bluewater Music. Working with writers such as Jim Lauderdale, Kim Richey, David Lynn Jones, Al Anderson, Sandy Knox and Chris Knight, Frank gained valuable experience as a publisher and producer. In 1994 Frank made the move to Decca Records where he helped oversee the creative careers of artists such as Mark Chestnutt, Gary Allan and Lee Ann Womack, whom he subsequently fell in love with and married. He also began his professional production career there, producing albums for Chris Knight, The Black Dog Soundtrack, and the Buddy Holly Tribute album Not Fade Away. 

On January 20th, 1999, he left Decca to join forces with comrade Travis Hill at Carnival Music. Carnival’s roster today boasts the talents of Adam Hood, Brent Cobb, Bruce Robison, Charlie Pate, Dani Flowers, David Nail, Drew Copeland, Eric Wilson, Heather Little, Jedd Hughes, Natalie Hemby, Rick Brantley, Rob Baird, Roman Candle, Scooter Carusoe, Shane Stockton and Troy Jones. Currently celebrating their 10th number one hit, “White Liar” with Miranda Lambert, Carnival Music has had songs recorded by most major country artists including Sara Evans, Pam Tillis, Rodney Atkins, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack, Garth Brooks, Jessica Andrews, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, Chris Cagle, Chris LeDoux, Carrie Underwood, Eli Young Band, Billy Currington, and Trisha Yearwood.

After their first album success, Frank again co-produced Miranda Lambert’s second and third albums, both of which were honored, as the Academy of Country Music voted “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” the 2008 Album of the Year and on Sunday, April 18, Frank Liddell took home his second Album of the Year award from the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards, for his co-production on Miranda Lambert’s “Revolution “ with Mike Wrucke. The album includes 4 songs co-written by Carnival’s Natalie Hemby, including both Lambert and Hemby’s first #1, “White Liar.”
