Our mastering specialist is now outside of Nashville. We want to refer our clients to a mastering place that does hardware mastering - i.e. pro mastering. Any suggestions? I would love to have a couple of places with a variety of budgets in mind. We have an array of clients, most on a budget, but some not as much, that would like pro mastering. Since we had used the same person for many years, we stayed loyal, but the out of town thing is getting old........
I tend to send stuff either to Brad Blackwood at Euphonic Masters in Memphis or to Bob Olhsson here in town. Both have done a fine job. We took one project to Mastermix last year - not to Hank, but one of the other guys. It came out just fine.
You'd be remiss not to look into using Masterfonics. They've been doing it for decades and Tommy and JR will most definitely take care of you and your clients. They are very easy to work with, go the extra mile and work with varying budgets.
I won't make any recommendations as I know all of these guys and any of the below mentioned individuals will do an outstanding job for you. They are all very experienced, have excellent equipment, and know their craft.
Here's a list for people to contact and find out for themselves. I know the list is incomplete, it's early and my mind is foggy, so don't take it personally. If I left you off, just add to the list and I'll apologize when I see you.
Jim Demain at Yes Master has mastered my last three projects. He's got major label credits and fair prices; projects were always finished when he said they would be. I'm very pleased with his work and plan to use him again.
