Use a balanced cable with TRS on one end and TS on the other. Tie the (R)ing and (S)shield wires together on the (S)hield of the TS which is the unbalanced side. Or, you can effectively drop the (R)ing wire on the TS end. Confused? I'm usually only 95% guaranteed accurate so maybe somebody better than me can chime in....
Also, you might be able to find one made up like that at Guitar Center or World Music.
Any Central Station users having trouble with their CS's going down? I know 3 people who use them and all 3 are having problems. They all are are losing freq. response on the left side of the unit across all outputs - beware...
I am with you! I have been through a few monitor controlers now, and the dangerous was the best sounding. The SPL model is also nice and has a notched vol control like the dangerous. But the SPL I listened to had a factory mis-wireing were the 2nd stereo input was out of phase (left to right). All the other inputs were ok. if you have an SPL contoler you might want to test it, but if you have the money.... get the Dangerous ST
A connection can be made similar to Bret's suggestion, but If you wish to just "direct patch" without isolation - I would consider wiring the TRS 1/4 inch as "normal" and connect only the balanced pair of wires to the TS ( mono) 1/4 inch plug. And on the TS plug - leave the shield or drain unconnected and isolated from any connection at that end.
If you run into a noise or loop problem - I suggest a 1/4 1/4 TS cable into a Direct box and then feed the TRS 1/4 balanced input with a balanced cable consisting of a female XLR from direct box output to a TRS balanced 1/4 inch to your Central station.
The direct box would give you the ability especially to isolate ( ground lift switch ) the 2 units and better provide an actual "balanced" line to the central station.
