comment about a double track: "Tighter than two coats of paint!"

I recall hearing somebody say "I'm gonna turn up the delay on this guitar solo just a bee's whisker" at some point during the Paul Coleman sessions.

To quote a big-time Nashville producer "Let put a little stank on the weasel" meaning let's get out there and cut a killer track.........

"Tang the hump" I think started with Lonnie Wilson.........

Drummer to Producer: "If it gets any slower i'll need an alarm clock not a metronome"

I always heard "tanging the hump" came from James Brown. Also, the comment about about the song getting slower---the story I heard was that drummer Jerry Kroon was on a Vern Gosdin session and when Vern asked Jerry to slow it down again, Jerry said, "Hoss, if it gets any slower we're gonna need a calendar instead of a metonome"

And I first heard "tanging the hump" in the mid-eighties with with David Huff, and the comment was from Gary Lunn !! Gary, care to 'fess up where that came from ?

One of my first side gigs in town, the bass player called out to me "fifteen forty-five". By the time he hit the second chord change I figured out what he meant, but my first impulse was to answer "ten-four"....
