Hello!

If you are a versatile, accomplished player of both upright and electric bass, and you are a strong singer of harmony vocals with a good range... I'd like to know who you are...

More low notes,

Byron House

Hah, not me Byron! My ears are my most flattering feature. And there's the fact that I don't play upright.....maybe next lifetime :)
Umm... It depends on how you define 'strong': Is it anything like 'loud'? I'm a LOUD singer of harmony vocals...
good to know, Dave!
...sally forth!
I know a great bass player, who fits the bill on all counts.... Scott Icenogle in Nashville. He does real country and rockabilly (and some other stuff I haven't heard). I love his upright bass work, plus he's a very good singer and harmony singer. I've worked with him several times and brought him on tour with me to Canada. Highly recommended.
Thanks, Tracey!

Hey Byron, I'm coming to this post party a little late but I'm equally comfortable on either axe and I LOVE to sing.  If you hear of anyone looking, feel free to send 'em my way!

Hi Bryon:
I'm looking for an upright bassist for a unique rock act.  If you know of anyone please have them contact me here or directly at David@Nashville.com.
Best,
David J Castello

Byron,

If you're still looking, I think I might have the right person for you. Versatile player in multiple styles on both electric and upright. Excellent technique. 30+ years of high-quality studio and touring experience. Played on numerous chart-topping hits. Interesting and memorable voice with loads of character. However, he's not really a Country bassist and I don't think he's from around here. But he just played a huge party with Vince Gill and its supposed to be on TV, soon.

Goes by the name of Sting. Hope this helps. :-)

How's that comedy career working out? :)

What? I was being totally serious! :-) Actually, my comedy "career" is working out much like my music "career." Both have a LONG way to go.

Actually, I met Sting when he did a private show (no joke) in Phoenix in 1996. Fantastic player, but I'm looking for an unknown Nashville upright bassist for the project.  Have a good one auditioning tomorrow at Diamond Sound Studios.

Wow! That must have been a peak experience! I had a similar encounter many years ago with Yo-Yo Ma. Still gives me shivers. Good luck tomorrow!
