Hey, I started recording again with a program called Audacity, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a better PC based recording suite. Check out http://www.myspace.com/doppleropera to hear the recordings.. Peace ya'll..

When I was on PC I used Cubase. You can also check out Reaper, which appears to just get better and better.

Are you looking for FREE or willing to pay? If pay, what's your budget?

Thanks for the feedback.. I'm going to try to get some more equipment before I buy the higher priced stuff. My budget would be around $100

Adobe Audition and Sony's Sound Forge are both great apps for the PC but they are a little more than $100.
Audition 3.0 is about $350. Sound Forge 9.0 is about the same. Both of these are multi-channel capable. There is a 2 channel version of Sound Forge called Sound Forge Audio Studio that's about $60. May not do much more that what you can do for free with Audacity. The Steinburg products are also very good.

There is an application called n-Track for under $100.00. I've used it since version 1 and every time I demo another app I get to appreciate how much of a bargin n-Track is. You can use some of the money you save and get some good vst plug ins (that are a snap to use in n-Track as well.

+1 for Reaper! Only $60 for smaller studios/home studios, and it has all the capabilities (and then some) of software costing hundreds more.
