OK, I was a late bloomer to the Beatles. I'd say somewhere between 1986, 1987 (I was a product of '80's Hair Metal) I started getting into their music. Right about the time the first round of CD's came out, so I never got to experience them on vinyl..... I've been living with that version as "The Beatles", but today as I put on the Re-Master of "Abbey Road" Holy Shi*, I feel like I'm hearing this album for the first time.... There is stuff there that I've never heard before...... On "Come Together" you can hear the room on Ringo's kick drums. The richnees of the strings on " Something" BGVs on "Oh Darlin!" The strings on "Here Comes The Sun" And I thought Elliot Smith's version of "Because" on the "American Beauty" soundtrack was better...... I suggest that everybody check it out at least this re-Mastered album.....

I really want to hear the MONO versions, if anyone wants to share the love.......

(BTW: I don't work for the Michael Jackson estate) ;-)

Mark,
I'm a lot like you in that I have heard things on the Mono Set that have blown me away. The differences in the sound quality of the remasters compared to the few Beatles CD's I bought many years ago are numerous and clear. Safe to say everyone recognizes the genius in their songwriting, but the genius in their instrumentation is what has really re-opened my eyes to get back into The Beatles.
Yes, and the production. Kinda like early Paul Simon albums, specifically "Still Crazy After All These Years".... No fluff, every part was put in for a reason. George Martin along with the Fab Four, treated each song like a jigsaw puzzle, they may have tried to put some pieces together that didn't work, but in the end, the albums sound just like the album covers......
The Ohhs on Getting Better from Sgt Peppers.... In Mono...... wow....
Paul's lines are much more pronounced in mono, and as a bass player -I Like It!
