Hey all - I have a question about soundproofing, or at least sound minimizing :)   My drum room is located above the garage, facing the front of the house towards the street (and all the nearby neighbors).  I'm always considerate about my playing times (i.e., not late at night), but would like to install some type of soundproofing material to reduce the volume just a bit facing the street. Our landlord doesn't want a bunch of permanent material stuck to the walls, but I'd like to find something inexpensive to use.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!!! :)

Check these guys out David. Their bass traps and acoustic panels are around $50 - $70 ea. Not sure how big your space is but several of them on a wall, especially the bass traps would stop some sound. They don't have to be permanently attached either.

In light of what Bret suggested, have you considered mounting the acoustical material to some 4x8 sheets of 3/4 inch (Probably get away with even smaller) plywood and then putting those against the walls?

That's a viable solution too Dave.

Of course I also made that comment without having looked at the site.  However, after having done so, that may not be a necessary component.  If it works the way they say it does, their products qualify as bad a$$.
