Not sure if he'd do it, but Mike Bradley would know who would, I'm sure. www.micshop.com I'm guessing you put this in front of a bass amp? What a cool question! Oh, and no, keep the money in our local economy!
Thanks Pete, Got a reply from Mike. He recommended to just send it back to EV...(@ $200 and 3 week turn around.) I was hoping to get it done locally but now I think I will try to order the part and fix it myself. I've had this mic for close to 30 years now.. I think I paid around $300 new.... so EV charging $200 is a little steep. I use this mic mainly for my Amatuer radio station. It still works well but the foam inside the mic has disentagrated over the years.
I have done it to several RE20's. I just got some of that thin foam at HD or Lowes that you use in window unit air conditioners. Comes in a big sheet. Assuming you know how to disassemble the mic, it is an easy process of just cutting and wrapping the foam in there like the old. Like I say I have done maybe 5-6 of them and it worked fine. Cheap and easy...Hope that helps
George, thanks so much for the feedback.. I have no problem tearing the mic apart. Should be an easy fix.
