I guess we're the only Sonar users, Kent! I ordered S8 PE 2 weeks ago, still in the shrink wrap waiting for a new computer to live in.

Long time Cakewalk user, since DOS days. Got 8 and am deciding whether to spring for the 8.5 upgrade. There are a number of Sonar users in Murfreesboro, and between us I'd bet we could honor your request. My question is, you're pretty specific with your request. Are you deliberating a purchase or are comparing DAWs for research or publication?

Ken,

The 8.5 upgrade is free, provided you purchased 8 after a certain date. Even if you bought it early, might be worth making some noise to see if they'd honor the deal I got?

Ken,
I am tracking an instrumental project in my home studio and want to A/B my mixes to productions using similar instrumentation and the same plugins that I have access to in Sonar 8 PE. It’d also be handy if the engineer could be contacted with questions, and maybe eventually do a mixing-instruction session.

My understanding was that if you bought the whole V Studio along with sonar 8, the 8.5 upgrade was free. For guys like me who only bought 8 PE, it's and additional $99

Nope, I only bought an upgrade from S6 PE to S8 PE (about a month ago) and they offered me the next upgrade free, which I downloaded last week.
