To me, an indie artist must go above and beyond the music, we have to be businessmen/women too. As recording music and making it available to the public becomes easier and easier, indie artists have to learn how to stand out. That takes innovation, musically and promotionally.

You're absolutely right. The problem is that many musicinas are ultra-creative when it comes to their music, but don't know and don't want to know about the business side of their careers. This is where they need to have serious help. Companies like Indie Extrreme handle the business for this kind of artist. And Indie Connect seeks to educate them as to how to be successful, and then connect them with the people who can make it happen.
