I assume that everyone here knows by now that Logic is no longer sold in stores and is only available via the Apple online app store.... and the price is now $199, However, it is no longer bundled with Waveburner, Mainstage, and Soundtrack Pro. Mainstage is now available separately for $29.99. Soundtrack Pro and Waveburner have apparently been abandoned.

Apple released a Logic Pro 9.1.4 update today with improved 64-bit and multi-core support in addition to  many bug fixes and the ability to open Garage Band for iPad files. You can update using Apple's Software Update feature found under the Apple menu. You can read read the release notes here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2565

Logic User Group Meeting TONIGHT, Wednesday April 27th at 7pm at Roberts Creative Systems. At the request of several group members, our focus tonight will be the environment. Logic's environment window is where many cool features of Logic are hidden. If you want to learn how to add arpeggiators, create patch list and layered instruments, add MIDI delays, and modify your MIDI data in all kinds of useful ways, you need to be here.

You put it where your optical drive is, then use external optical drive when needed. The link in my other comment explains.

Really?  How do you add a 2nd internal drive to a macbook?  it's be hard to add a paperclip to the inside of mine.

I'm thinking of adding a 2nd internal HD to my MacBook. Anyone else doing this? If so, how's it working for you?

Here's a link to some product, FYI..

I tried doing a Logic class once for more advanced users and I found it was very difficult because each persons interest and needs were different. There are so many different ways to approach and use Logic, I have found it more effective to work with more advanced users one on one. However, I do see the need for a class like Scott is proposing for songwriters and others just getting started with Logic or Pro Tools.

For those of you who don't know, Dave McKay and I host the Nashville Pro Logic User Group that meets on the last Wednesday of each month. Sometimes we have guest speakers and sometimes it is just a open Q & A where the members can help each other with Logic questions. The meetings are currently free and open to anyone. We are also in the planning stages of starting a Pro Tools 9 groups. You can get more information at www.robertscreativesystems.com

Hey Scott,

Sounds like a great idea!  I would be interested in Logic.  Although I am a long-time logic user, since back in the e-magic days, there is always something to learn about this program.

Hey Logic users, especially those who like to tweak Space Designer.

I am really looking for some new Impulse Responses to load into Space Designer. IN stead of reverbs though, I have heard of some mic preamp emulations that have been made as IRs. Does anyone know where I might be able to find these. For example, I keep reading on other forums that there is a cool Neve IR. While I know that it isn't really gonna act the same, I am interested to see what it will sound like and what transients it will add for example.

Nashville Pro Logic User Group meeting tonight, Monday September 20th at 7pm at Roberts Creative Systems in Franklin. Jeff Mac will be demoing the new BFD Eco plug-in at the meeting and we will be giving away a copy to one lucky winner. We will still have our usual Logic Pro Q&A time.
