Comment by Pete Warren on February 16, 2012 at 5:10pm Fellow World Music Gurus, I want to take a few moments to pay tribute to a dear friend who passed a few months ago in December, 2011. Tom Roady was a member of WMG's, and a long time member of NMP also. He was a phenomenal percussionist and a tremendous individual who contributed to his community in amazing ways as an outstanding friend and musician to many of us here. Tom played with artist such as Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin & Ricky Skaggs, among others. I am afraid I'm late in posting this, to show my respects to him, but I wanted to make sure that all within our WMG community are aware of the passing of this great man and great contributor within our music community to the world music beats we all love. Godspeed, Tom. We'll see you when we get there.
Comment by Pete Warren on February 16, 2012 at 5:05pm I'd like to say welcome to an old friend of mine, Ric Dominico, to the World Music Gurus group! Ric is a fantastic talent as an orchestrator and arranger, and also has a tremendous voice! We go all the way back to my time as a student at Belmont, when I had him singing on demos of songs I was producing for various publishers at the time. WELCOME RIC!
Comment by Pete Warren on October 7, 2011 at 4:36pm My most sincere apologies to those who were awaiting approval to join the World Music Gurus! I had not noticed the queue that had several awaiting approval, some since February even! And since it is my responsibility to approve these, it was my neglect alone to have done so! BUT with this most humble apology, let me also say WELCOME TO THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE WORLD MUSIC GURUS OF NASHVILLE MUSIC PROS! Please say hello and tell us about yourself, if you so desire! I'm always curious as to who our local world music lovers and gurus are, what instruments you perform or functions you are a part of in the structure of world music arts. Thank you for being a part of our tiny world music community! CHEERS!
Comment by Pete Warren on December 26, 2010 at 3:54pm Thanks for the awareness, Nan. How can any interested gurus get involved?
Thanks,
Pete.
