About Me:: Barney Johnston moved from the great state of Texas to Nashville,Tennessee in 1989. In 1994,he earned a B.S. in Music Business from Trevecca Nazarene University.Since then, he has been playing bass for Recording Artists such as two-time Grammy Award Winner, Rebecca Lynn Howard,New West Artist, Stephen Bruton,Compadre Artist, Trent Willmon,2005 Nashville Star Winner Erika Jo,Curb Artists, Ashley Gearing,Star DeAzlan, and Lee Brice, Showdog Artist, Trailer Choir, Warner Brothers Artist, Whitney Duncan,Texas Artists Seth James and Shannon Cain,Woody Bradshaw,Michael English,David Phelps, of the Gaither Vocal Band, Scott Riggan, Jaime Harvill, Derryl Perry, Razzie Bailey,Chuck Allen Floyd, Rebecca Frederick,and Arlene Gutierrez. He has played on Artist Showcases with such Artists as Jay Speight,Keith Smith,DeDe Day,Candy Coburn,Jaime Fox,Clay Underwood,Ezra Jane, Mayberry Downunder,and Alvarado Road Show(with Steve Wariner). Barney is currently available for Touring, Showcases, and Session work. Besides being a bassist, he is also a songwriter who can be seen occasionally around town in a writer's round playing acoustic guitar.The songs posted here on his site are some of the songs he has played on and is a co-writer on. How do you find time to song write when you are on the road... I guess you fit it in, you have to right? Friday Night Lights - the demo singer sounds a little like Luke Bryant - I almost thought it was a LB song... :) Where do you usually play? I play mostly the same places. I would love to play more but I don't want to drag my guitar player all over town since I don't play for myself! Have fun out there with TC, I have been to Vin's church for an after party once, I am sure you are there every once and a while. He is a hoot! Hopefully you will make your way out one time. If you ever need a demo singer - that is what I do :)

I showed horses many many times in Wichita Falls! What a small world...
I have experienced a little bit of the networking in my 2 visits to Nashville, but I'm looking forward to so much more to come!
I hope to co-write more when I get to Nashville, as well as perfecting my craft of singing. Thank you so much for your encouragement as I take this next step in my life... I really do appreciate it. I'm not scheduled to perform at any writers nights yet, but I'm looking for any opportunity that presents itself...
Have any suggestions? I'm totally open to those!
