Disassemble Neumann Gefel m582

Hey, I have a very slight problem with my Gefel 582. Audio cuts in and out with a big thump when you move the connector at the base. I have a pair of these mics and have confirmed it's the mic, not the cable or connector. I'm thinking there might be a cold solder joint or something lose inside the mic.I want to take it apart to check it out. It looks like a couple of small screws hold the capsule on, then another screw at the bottom lets the cover slide off the chassis. does this sound right?…See More

One of my fav cd's is Jim Hurst's Second Son. I haven't thought of Fred's limiter in years. To my knowledge there were two of them. Last I heard, John Darnell had one and Greg Nelson had the second one fred made. I used to use that one a lot. I always thought of it as a Fairchild with the controls of a GML.
