Hey, I'm Britt Savage!

Profile Information

Occupation:
Singer, writer, therminist
Company Name:
Britt Savage
About Me:
I'm a singer who created MOD NIGHT- A GO GO! -a live music event featuring bands plus 60's go go.

MOD NIGHT -A GO GO! is a celebration of everything mod! (If you're confused, think The Who, Twiggy, James Bond Theme songs, The Kinks--- if you're still confused, think Austin Powers, Amy Winehouse, The White Stripes..ha)

Here's something from The Scene.

Shagadelic!
MOD NIGHT FEAT. BRITT SAVAGE & TWANG DELUXE Not only does Britt Savage’s new CD sound like a Tarantino soundtrack, her bio reads like one of his story pitches. A former gas station attendant, Playboy bunny and Star Search winner—we’re talking 100 large—Savage has performed on the Opry, at The Apollo, with Nashville Opera and at CBGB’s, not to mention recorded with Noel Redding, Nona Hendrix, RuPaul (!), Nastassja Kinski (!!) and little Billy Gilman (.). Thanks to a great voice, good songs and a killin’ backup band, her album “Fingerprints” manages to sidestep the kitschy pitfalls of dozens of other similarly retro releases. Mod Night is a monthly celebration of everything mod, featuring go-go girls, martinis, vintage film clips and of course music. Oh, behave! —JACK SILVERMAN

My Trip to DC

Just got home from my witnessing Obama's Inauguration. As many of you know, MOD NIGHT-A GO GO drummer/husband, Wes Little, got to play at The Neighborhood Ball, backing up Beyonce, Sting, Mariah Carey, Alecia Keys, Shakira and Stevie Wonder! It was really cool that he played "At Last" with Beyonce for Barack and Michelle's first dance. Dang, they look in love, don't they? What a handsome couple. You can see Wes backing up Sting and Stevie Wonder here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Jr8UEiC2Tc… Continue

My Mod Life 011209

Hey Gang,

Ok, so I'm 12 days late on my New Year's Resolutions. I started out fine but the details of last week's MOD NIGHT-A GO GO drove me into a ditch. THANK YOU to all the people who came out to our first mod night at 12th & Porter, it was our biggest turn out yet. Bands, Elle Macho & Million Sellers were outstanding and the talented dancers from Music City Burlesque (Diletta Delight, Lucy DeLovely, Frankie Apple) were go go gorgeous!

Congratulations to Wes Little… Continue

Hey Gang,

As many of you know, we're moving MOD NIGHT- A GO GO! to 12th & Porter. I've loved being at The Rutledge but I think this is a great move for us and I hope you agree.

We'll be at 12th & Porter on Jan 8th (Elvis and Bowie's birthday) and I just want to change it up a bit for the new year.

We've had the honor of having some amazing go go dancers from both Panty Raid! Burlesque and Music City Burlesque and I feel like they deserve to be featured a bit… Continue

FANG Deluxe adventures

Hey Twangsters,

I've gone Halloween crazy this year. I've got a real pumpkin on my front porch plus a cheesy "light brite" looking electric pumpkin in my window. I can't wait for our MOD NIGHT HALLOWEEN-A GO GO DANCE PARTY. (I named it "Dance Party" to try to force you guys to dance -ha!) I'm thinking you'll feel like dancing if you wear a costume, but remember.. don't feel obligated to wear a costume, just come out and have fun.

Ok, so today, I'll be hanging up posters.… Continue

It's interesting that you reference The Who as ‘Mod’, I can see it for their early stuff but I really don't think the title fits the work that they are most remembered for, which I've always considered psychedelic rock. BTW - Do you get many calls for Theremin? The Disney stuff is interesting, reminds me of The Monkees. I actually get it, maybe becoming a grandfather has affected my brain…God bless

Hi Britt,

I revisited your page, after posting my note to you, and found that the note wasn't there anymore (I guess it's either a sick person, or maybe one with an severe inferiority complex, who has to check up on themselves, as I was doing). Anyway, I'm posting again.

Great to hear from you and thanks for your kind words. You've always been at the top of my singer list and my "people" list too. Wish I was involved in more "singing" jobs so I could see you more often, but those projects are gone for now. The Lord works in mysterious ways, though, so I'm holding tight onto my half-full glass.

Jeff
