"Hello Chris Cooke. I have accepted your friend request and now we are officially friends. All prior engagement was nothing more than a sham and did not actually count.
So...we should play a gig soon yeah?"
Chris Cooke has been bringing his brand of musicality and groove to the Nashville music community over 15 years. A meat 'n' potatoes rock drummer at heart with years of jazz and funk experience, Chris informs his playing with a variety of styles, pulling out the perfect approach to any musical situation. His versatility as a drummer and percussionist as well as a backup vocalist has secured Chris extensive travel with singer-song writers like Scott Riggan, Thom Shumate, Jay Speight and David Durham, as well as having recording credits with artists such as Mark Lee Townsend, Aaron & Andrew, Lori Tripplett, and April Underwood. Chris's attention to his sounds are not only heard in his own playing, but his drum sounds are often used to supplement drum tracks on other artists' recordings.
In 2003, Chris co-founded Sodium Glow LLC, a production house with his partner/engineer David A Terry. They are proud to have produced acclaimed recordings for Concerning Lions, Wrong George, Jay Speight, David Durham, Cathy Carter-Heiser, and Jenna Martin.
When Chris isn't on the road or in the studio, he plays around middle Tennessee with some other Nashville producers and engineers in his Beatles cover band, SixtyFour, and even plays keyboards in the classic rock band, The Remedies.
Hey Chris, FINALLY! after 15 years, we meet :) I really enjoyed hearing you play, what better introduction is there? Hopefully we will see more of each other in the future. Send me a message some time if you ever want to grab some coffee and exchange sentances. I get out of the studio for sushi sometimes too...
