- Chuck Thompson is a 29-year veteran of the entertainment industry. He began his career while still in college as a publicist with the Woody Bowles Company, working with David Allen Coe, Frizzell & West, Ricky Skaggs and George Strait. Later, as the Vice President/Director of Public Relations for The Ken Stilts Company, Thompson planned and executed artist development programs for The Judds, Billy Dean, McBride and The Ride, Skip Ewing and Wynonna.
In 1995 Thompson joined the RCA Label Group as the Director, Media Relations and Artist Development for RCA Records and BNA Records, working with Clint Black, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, John Anderson, Lorrie Morgan, Mindy McCready and others. He also coordinated the label’s NASCAR effort, working with the Kranefuss-Haus Racing Team and the executives of the team’s co-sponsors Little Caesar’s Pizza and Kmart.
Chuck Thompson opened the offices of the Thompson Entertainment Group in the spring of 1997 to provide career direction for artists. “Our goal is to develop long term strategies for our artists”, says Thompson. “Artist management is not a cookie cutter business, while the goal for each is the same, the strategy for each artist must be unique.” Drawing on his wealth of experience TEG also develops and consults on specialty projects with entertainment components.
