For jam sessions google Carol Ann's Cafe, and The Fillin' Station, Tootsie's has an open mic on Sat and there's a writers night out by Opryland @ a place called The Scoreboard that is less like a writers night and more like a jam. There's a jazz society that has a jam somewhere too but I forget where.
