- About Me:
- Dave Dykstra, drummer and percussionist hailing from Chicago, IL grew up immersed in Motown, Blues, R&B, Jazz and Classic Rock. Since childhood Dave has always been captured by music and the percussive arts. Along the way, he has had the opportunity to study with some of the most renowned modern drummers in the world today including Chester Thompson, Zoro, Paul Wertico and many others.
Since graduating from Belmont University in 2007, Dave has toured nationally with and/or recorded with artists such as Paul Bogart, The Waylors, Christian Simmons Band, Derek James, Courtney Hogan (Warner/Asylum), Ric Blair (Celtic Isle Records), Josh Wilson (EMI/CMG), The Lifeline, Morgan Myles and many more.
In addition to his work in Nashville, Dave has worked extensively as the show band drummer with Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises touring to over 50 countries in the process.
Dave is currently the tour drummer for country artist Paul Bogart and off the road, Dave keeps a busy session schedule and teaches private lessons in the Nashville area.
Dave proudly endorses Silverfox Percussion products and Grover Drums and is an active member of the Nashville Musicians Association and the Percussive Arts Society.
