- I've been recording music for more than 25 years and I'm the owner and operator of Java Jive Studio in Joelton, TN.
I've written articles and reviews for a bunch of magazines Recording Magazine, Pro Sound News, Audio Media, EQ, Mix, On Sound and Pro Audio Review and Bass Player Magazine. This kind of work has not only given me the opportunity to play with some really cool audio toys, but also to meet and write about some very nice people.
As a bassist, I've performed and recorded with singers well known, once known, and unknown; with bands playing all kinds of music; from show tunes to riff rock, from second line to polkas, and from blues to Beethoven. And I've performed with the All Bass Orchestra. Duke Ellington once said, "There are only two kinds of music, good music and the other kind." I've played both.

Howdy, Folks!
It looks like I'll be back in LA from May 14 - 24, but I'm not completely booked while I'm there. Since I'll have time during the days (and some evenings) please keep me in mind should you hear of sessions or gigs. For that matter, keep me in mind if you know of a great coffee shop in Hollywood. Otherwise, I'll be sitting in the hotel bored to tears....

New Studio web site

Hi, folks!
I've just re-done my studio's webs site - after 5 years, it was past time. I'm not sure if it's as cool as the old one was, but I really needed to have some new audio samples and other stuff. With the new site, the gear list and the photos are more up to date (and there are at least pictures of the piano now).

It lets me feel like a real musician again, at least for a month or so. My day gig is working for Sharpie. I am the project manager in the IT department. If you ever need any Sharpies, let me know!
