Profile Information

Occupation:
Electric Bass Player, Songwriter, Utility Musician, Producer
Company Name:
Freelance Musician, Self Employed
About Me:
Born in western Kentucky the oldest of two, to an Air Force father, and church pianist/organist mother. Some of my first childhood memories were pecking around on my mom’s piano as well as many family gatherings sitting around the old console stereo in my grandparents’ living room. I remember so vividly being enamored with “Imagine” by John Lennon; the melody and message had an impact on me at an early age.

Like most musicians, I got my start singing in church. I took an interest in the low brass at an early age, started playing it in the 5th grade. While in school I won several awards, including all-state & quad-state bands, and the John Philip Sousa award. Electric bass became my muse my junior year of high school.

After graduation I traveled the nation a lot, working an array of odd jobs for fun. While eventually moving back to Kentucky to go back to school. While in school I had the opportunity to study under some of the best teachers that Nashville has to offer Roy Vogt, Adam Nitti, and Regi “the teacha” Wooten.

Upon graduation I landed a great job as a technician at a local manufacturing plant. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I wasn’t very happy with my life or the direction that it was going. Still a dreamer at age 33, I moved to Nashville to pursue my passion. Being a musician truly is a lifestyle; you only get one life, and I refuse to wonder what if.

In my short career, I’ve been very fortunate to have shared the stage with the likes of Kentucky Headhunters, Blake Shelton, Low Cash Cowboys, and have recorded/performed with the Nappy Roots, the Muzik Mafia, Doc Blakey, Eddie Pennington, Hillbilly Jim, Damon Smith, Bobby Baldwin, Vilejive, and many more…

I have also been very fortunate to have such a diverse up bringing musically; I can play just about any style of music, but i love country, rock, blues, and funk. I know the role of a bassist, I’m not flashy; I’m a very deep pocket, groove oriented bassist.

I am aggressively seeking a touring major label artist and studio session work. I am available for pick up gigs and also touring opportunities. Contact me if you need a professional who is hard working, versatile, and reliable.
