I WILL APPEAR WITH "BOB SAXON & FRIENDS AT 3:15PM ON THE FIRST DAY OF VENUE JULY 7TH ON THE MAIN STAGE. EVENT RUNS THROUGH THE 10TH. AS A GRETSCH/FENDER MUSICAL INSTRUMENT CORP./ARTIST I WILL BE AT THE GRETSCH BOOTH EACH DAY OR PICKIN' SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE EVENT. JAM SESSIONS BREAK OUT ALMOST EVERY MINUTE.

- Originally from Southern California. Hometown area was Hollywood, Calif. Beverly Hills area. Born into the Music and Hollywood Film and Entertainment business via my parents. Played my first Professional show with Smokey Rogers in 1954, Played Town Hall Party and west coast Radio and TV Shows. Played in several Bands in the San Diego & LA area till 1962. Off to college. Married, raised 3 children. Returned to Music in 1979. Won several Awards from CCMA (Calif.).Moved to Nashville 1987. Urged by Joe & Rose Lee Maphis, and others. I knew most every major performer in the business from the late 40's-60's. Joe Maphis and Rose Lee Maphis, Merle Travis, Johnny Bond, Johnny Cash & his then wife Vivian. These people and many others were good friends. I Purchased my home here with Tommy Cash as my agent. In 2005 Mark & Andy Moseley asked me to do the "Tribute Album to Joe Maphis & Merle Travis". It was Released on the old MOSRITE RECORDS Label. That was Barbara Mandrell's first label. Mark Moseley is my Producer.(Sound Control). I have been a AFM Member under Vic Willis & Harold Bradley and now Mr, Promeroy. I'am a GRETSCH / FENDER Musicial Inst Co. Artist. And listed on the Gretsch Guitars Web-Site. I cannot list all the people I know or have worked with over 55 years plus, too many to list here. A few lately would look like. Mark Moseley, Kerry Marx, Tommy Wells, Hoot Hester, Lynn Owlsey, Tommy Campbell, Bob Patin. Sonny Garish,.Charlie Vaughn. Kerry & Hoot are Opry Band Members. I have until 5 weeks ago, had the Tue. Nite band at the Longhollow Jamboree. I have been there for 3 1/2 years.I left mainly because of road work coming up. Spring & Summer is our busy time and I have albums to support. I was the lead guitar player for Adam Pope and the Rebel Roots. Adam Pope - Vocals, Lisa Horngrend Stand-up Bass & myself on Lead Guitar. The album "Bury Me In Tennessee" was released in 2007. Oh I must include my label mate NOKIE EDWARDS. I have played the Opry as a side musician. WildHorse, Midnite Jamboree. WSM 650 Radio, and to many road show to list over 55 years. etc.

I didn't know if I would have the strength to speak but God let His grace flow down to help me find the words as I chocked back the tears. I miss you and Richard and think of you often. I hope your doing OK.
