I am soon to be a Belmont grad. with a degree in commercial voice (emphasis in music business) and a minor in French. I have a warm, southern tone that combines with the smokey, raw sounds of soul to make my signature pop style. I am influenced by a myriad of artists such as Leann Rimes, Brooke Fraser, and Sara Bareilles. As a vocalist, I excel in connecting with an audience and can take my sound from a powerful belt to an intimate whisper. Above all things, I wish most to be authentic and I'm drawn to music primarily for its power to encourage and connect people through honest lyrics.
I am currently working as a session singer for Jason Klav of Skywater Productions and recording an EP. The EP will feature “Fragments of Me” and "I'd Rather Blame You", originals which have already begun to circulate through the hands of some of Nashville’s leading labels. In the summer of ’09, I will be touring from Texas to Chicago with a few other Nashville artists, playing church, club and house concerts to promote my music.
Since the age of ten, I have been singing and dancing professionally for venues including the North Carolina Theatre and have also performed the National Anthem for sports venues such as the Carolina Panthers (NFL). This past summer, I starred in Matt Davenport Production’s "Wild Country" at Hershey Theme Park.
I have also served as a worship leader in my home church in Greensboro since age 17 and have continued to lead or sing backup on special occasions in Nashville churches. Finishing up my last semester at Belmont, I am the dance captain of one of the University’s acclaimed commercial, vocal ensembles, Company, directed by Jim Kimmel.
