About Me:
Reigning from his stomping grounds of Cincinnati, Ohio, Geoff Thurman juxtaposes layers of Acoustic, Latin and Urban genres in creating his signature, Soulful-Spiritual sound. Stemming from an era when the arts were used as a platform for revolution, Geoff frames his music with a raw, illustration of his trials, tribulations and triumphs as a man and musician. Influenced by industry Legends who include Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and The Staple Singers, Geoff began to contribute his wide range of artistic genius to the music industry. In 1983, Geoff was privileged to have his first song, Jehovah, recorded by songstress, Amy Grant. The single climbed to the top of the Contemporary Christian Music Charts, solidifying Geoff as a promising, young talent. This experience provided Geoff with an opportunity to record a plethora of other songs, alongside an array of Contemporary Christian Music stars. From Point of Grace, Cindy Morgan and Michael English to Glen Campbell and Ricky Skaggs, Geoff received accolades and industry recognition for his song contributions to the Christian circuit. In 1998, Geoff co-produced and released his debut, solo, LP. Unseen Child was distributed by Fair Oaks Music, spawning the commercial success of the smash-hit single, How You're Living.

To promote his music to the masses, Geoff Thurman has performed before the presense of live audiences, overseas and across the nation since 1976. Geoff most recently headlined his Birthday Concert, as he has also taken center stage at The Bluebird Cafe' in Nashville, TN. Garnering respect as one of the most prolific performers of his generation, Geoff has accompanied Ricky Skaggs at The Ryman Auditorium as well. The critical and commercial success of Geoff Thurman's career has led him in the direction of creating music beds for daytime television series', in association with his music contributions to HBO and DISNEY programming. Ultimately, Geoff aspires to reach a plateau in his career that allows him to continue writing and being innovative for the next thirty years to come.To promote his music to the masses, Geoff Thurman has performed before the presense of live audiences, overseas and across the nation since 1976. I want to BREAK your Camera...

I'm looking for a photographer. I really would like to find someone looking to break in or a student who wants a willing guinea pig. I can pay a little.

The New...ness...

On March 11, 1985, our world changed. Naomi Dawn Thurman was born into the arms of two incredibly incompetent parents who wanted to love this child with everything they had to possess. Those two parents learned more from their child than they had to give to her. That's how the world works.

Our world changed many times and through many seasons since.

In July of 2004, our world changed again. Our daughter became a rape survivor. The gift of her first child was a blessing… Continue

Starting Over

I never thought I was deep. I've grown up a bit since I hit this city with my pregnant wife in 1984. I left it because I thought I was done with it. Now I realize that it wasn't done with me.

I'm alone now ... my wife and I have separated. I've chosen to not take sides against anyone. I've chosen to love from a distance and help myself learn how to heal and find out who I am. I've lost friends because I've chosen not to play the church routine with gossip couched in "prayer requests"… Continue

Hi Geoff...I read your blog and was moved by it. Life can be hard with changes - thank goodness God is never-changing. I have always loved the song SHADOW AND LIGHT that we wrote years ago, the one that wound up on several Bruce Carroll projects. Also am enjoying what I'm hearing as I look at your NMP page! Wishing you well, Paula C

Hey Jeff. I think you know I'm back around now full time. Would like to hook up and maybe share some song ideas with you for possible co-writes. If you're up for consideration, let's have you come over soon. I'd enjoy writing with you again. Some of my favorite songs from my meadowgreen days were ones I wrote with you.

Cheers,

Pete.

Sorry to name drop here Geoff. I'm very good friends with Don Mitchell. I play keys with him in our band at church. He has always talked about you in the past. Needless to say I wanted to check out your stuff when I found you on here. One Dream is incredible. What a progression. Would love to meet you sometime. Take Care.

Hey Geoff...Sure was glad to see one of my all time favorite singers up here on NMP. I still dust off the old "Blame It On The Night" demo you sang for me many moons ago just because it's so cool to listen to. Let's do coffee or lunch one day soon. Bless ya!
