Born into an already established, musical background, Gina was raised on traditional country music (and Elvis). Her father's collection of music ran from Texas Swing to the Nashville Sound. Her musical roots may have started traditional, but over the years have "branched" to a melting pot of musical styles. Born and raised in east Texas, Gina performed regulary as a lead and backup vocalist at the Gladewater Opry, a country music theater owned by her parents. Gina was also involved in PR for the music show, working with various radio stations for promotional opportunities, and working within the community for show sponsors. Gina also put together a music show, "Teen Witness 2000" to raise money for four local church youth groups. She also developed and taught a stage presentation workshop for local artists. In 2005, Gina moved to Nashville, and the following year, Gina signed her first single-song publishing contract with L'ile Des Auteres Music.
