2" Tape Machine, which would you choose?

Otari, Sony/MCI, Studer or Tascam?I have been and still I am looking for the right machine for our studio. I am up to my ears in DAW, I love it but....We also currently use a 1" Tascam and it has served us well, but now it is time to step up. I am leaning toward Otari but I am way open to sugestions. Have you used one of these? If so what was your experience? Thanks for all the response in advance.See More

Cheap Ear Buds and MP3 files taking their toll on the quality norm

With most of todays music being played on cheap ear buds and file transfers using MP3 compressed format, it almost seems that industry is allowing the market to dictate our quality norm, and this norm certainly does not sound the way it did 5 years ago. It is amazing that it seems the younger crowd is being programed to like the thiner sounding mp3 over non compressed CD. Things that make you go MMMMMMSee More
