Occupation:
Drummer and Percussionist
Company Name:

About Me:
I am an energetic, creative musician interested in making great music with great people. A diverse player, I have worked with and continue to work with my own band Wide Range, the Dennis Shepherd Group, Aretha Franklin, The Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Jackson Symphony orchestras, The Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra and am on the road frequently with Nashville Artist Craig Boyd.

Always pushing for new experiences and opportunities live and studio.

I studied drums and percussion at the University of Tennessee graduating with a Bachelor of Music in 1998, and went on to complete a Masters of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. During these years in addition to schooling, I was an active player in jazz clubs, corporate events, rock clubs and symphony orchestras all over East Tennessee and Western Pensylvania respectively.
Moving to Nashville in the year 2000, I basically jumped in with both feet and tried to figure out how the Nashville Scene functions. This led to a road gig with Carrie Folks while holding down a day gig at Pearl Drum Coporation. The Carrie gig led to the formation of my own band called WideRange and the Pearl gig led to the formation of the Dennis Shepherd Group. These two bands are my creative refuges, there is nothing quite like making and creating music with people you love.
In addition to these labors of love, I am always playing in the percussion sections of various symphony orchestras, and church orchestras all over the southeast as well as drumming for showcases, and club gigs around Nashville.
I have played a fair amount of recording sessions as both drummer and percussionist including album projects, jingles, soundtracks and have even co-produced a couple. Get in touch with me any way any time and let's make some music together.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the heads up on this site!!! Since I joined the other day,I have been getting more activity than I do on my myspace site!!! I am still learning how to get around on this site, though! Bro,I will keep you in mind if I hear of anyone looking for a drummer for both local stuff and for touring! I can't remember it ever being this hard to get work around here!!! All I have is a couple of saturday gigs and writer rounds ,and that is it!!! I guess we just have to keep passing the word around and hopefully something will break!!! Take care and stay in touch,
Barney

Hey Jeff,

It was really nice to meet you face-to-face yesterday. Thanks for making your way up to the booth. Just wanted to say that you did a great job playing. Very tasteful. Look forward to working with you more in the future.

Jeff, it looks like you're doing quite well. I checked out your site; your drum tracks are killer! Keep it up, I'm sure we'll run into each other soon. Do you have a gig calendar?

I usually end up having to do repairs to that kit, and "donate" cymbal sleeves as well. Next time, I'm going to send them an invoice or tell the artists to deduct it from their production fee. :-)
