Profile Information

Occupation:
Producer / Arranger / Songwriter / Musician / Recording Artist
Company Name:
Dwelling Productions
About Me:
I am a producer, songwriter, etc. living and working in the Southern California area. My wife and I are also recording artists under the name, Jeremy and Rebecca. (Clever... we know.) :-) We track as often as possible in Nashville and thoroughly enjoy working with the Music City community and with our growing group of friends in the area.

I also do web/graphic design and audio/video production for clients, but would rather be doing my own stuff. (Can I get a witness?) :-)

My instrument of choice is piano / keys. But, I also like to mess around with anything that is, or can be fashioned into, a music-making device.

I made my wife the happiest woman alive when we married because it was then that I stopped driving her crazy about not being married to me. (Of course, now, I have many other ingenious ways to annoy her...) :-)

Together, Rebecca and I, have two crazy-amazing young children. (Emphasis on crazy!) Apart from one another, we have no children... which makes life a lot less complicated! :-)

I enjoy any opportunity I can get to work with my younger brother, Jonathan, who is also an extremely talented producer, etc.

For the record, I taught my brother everything I know... and now he's teaching me everything he knows! (It's a great system!)

History:

(I never have been really keen on talking up "accomplishments". But, here are a few notable life events to give some context...)

2010 - Awarded first prize in the world's leading international songwriting competition (The USA Songwriting Competition)

2009 - Released a large-scale, self-produced, and self-financed debut album (Jeremy and Rebecca - What We Leave Behind)

2008 - Launched indie label (Dwelling Records)

2006 - Multiple finalist in songwriting competitions

2003 - 2006 - Had our two children - a beautiful son and daughter

2000 - Started production company (Dwelling Productions)

1995 - Third place finish in the Seminar in the Rockies international piano competition

1994 - Married my wife Rebecca (and, life suddenly became very good!) :-)

1992 - Misc. music, drama, and ditching in high school (That's our little secret!)

1990 - Wouldn't sing a note in public prior to this year, due to a traumatic experience as a 5-year-old singing at church. (True story!) Confronted my fear head-on when a friend talked me into joining the school choir.

1977-1990 - (The Lost Years) :-) Spent most of my time at the piano, writing instrumental songs. (When I finally emerged from our "piano room", years later, I was shocked to learn about such things as sports... friends... and sunlight...) :-)

1977 - Mom started teaching me piano at age 3. (Way to go Mom!)

1974 - Born at the ripe old age of... zero. (Of course, I had very little to do with this... outside of possibly influencing the day.)

The beginning of time to 1973 - Nothin'... just plain nothin'... (Except for my parents picking out my name somewhere in there...)

Before time began - Still nothin'... :-)

My graphic designer said, "wow, it looks amazing!" But she's never been a user. I can't even figure out how to upload, look at comments, etc... Actually, I think they did away with wall comments and put only song comments on there. Are you all still participating?

I'm not thrilled with the Stereofame style of things either. You can't do traditional sales in there. Ugh.
