I have been living in Nashville since 2002 or so. Started playing professionally while still in high school.
Helped to found the highly regarded and successful acoustic act, Mountain Heart, in 1999. Currently doing a string of dates featuring Mountain Heart and Legendary guitarist, Tony Rice.
Debut solo project "No Apologies" was released in 2006 and was nominated for a Grammy in "Best Country Instrumental" category. Also held a #1 chart spot in bluegrass music for over three months. Had three other charting songs from that album. Album also featured, "Scars", a track written by John Paul White, sung by Sonya Isaacs, and co-produced by Mark Bright and Jim.
Had the honor of being commissioned to write a new IBMA Awards Show Theme song in 2007. Jerry Douglas had previously held that honor for 13 years, and before him, Mark O'Connor.
Nominated for Fiddle Player of the Year at IBMA mulitple times.
Prominently featured fiddler on "Best Country Album" Grammy winner, "Livin', Lovin', Losin': Tribute to the Louvin Brothers", produced by Carl Jackson.
Featured fiddler on Carrie Underwoods Billboard #1, "Don't Forget to Remember Me".
Have worked extensively as a session player, road musician, and record producer.
