Ken Soper replied to Dana B Martin's discussion Does ANYONE use Sonar these days?
"There are a number of us down in the Boro who have used Sonar since it was Cakewalk Pro Audio.  I'm on 8.5 Producer and my friend Jason has been using X1 since its release.  I'm waiting on a computer upgrade before going to X1,…"

"My understanding was that if you bought the whole V Studio along with sonar 8, the 8.5 upgrade was free. For guys like me who only bought 8 PE, it's and additional $99"

Ken Soper replied to Kent Gunderson's discussion Tracks mixed in Sonar
"Long time Cakewalk user, since DOS days. Got 8 and am deciding whether to spring for the 8.5 upgrade. There are a number of Sonar users in Murfreesboro, and between us I'd bet we could honor your request. My question is, you're pretty…"

"Mark--sorry to miss your post--yes, I have a Minimoog Voyager. Same sound, far more stable than the originals, which means it holds its tune throughout a session. I also have a Moogerfooger MurF and analog delay as well as an Moog Etherwave…"

Profile Information

Occupation:
Keyboard player, tour manager, producer, polysomnographic technician
About Me:
I've been a touring musician since 1978. Trained classically on pipe organ, I learned jazz, and pop styles at Indiana University. I played the major showrooms in Atlantic City before moving to Nashville in 1988.

Soon after moving to Nashville I toured with Jane Powell, an R&B singer, and produced her first album. After completing my degree in 1994 at Belmont University, I began playing sessions and touring.

I was tour manager/bandleader/keyboard player for Joe Diffie for quite a while, and have also toured with Jo-El Sonnier, Paul Brandt, Steve Holy, Clay Davidson, Mark Chesnutt, and Tracy Lawrence. I played on Joe Diffie's new collection of greatest hits, to be released in 2008 as well as Jo-El Sonnier's Grammy-nominated "Cajun Blood."

In 2005 I was asked by Mike Adams, president of Moog Music, to perform on the Minimoog Voyager at Dr. Robert Moog's memorial celebration in Asheville, NC, the sole synthesizer performer on the program. One year later I was asked again by Moog Music to create a "Moment of Moog," a 20-second snippet of electronic music to commemerate the one-year anniversary of Dr Moog's passing. The Moment of Moog was released globally over the internet and has turned up on Chinese electronic music sites. It may be found by Googling "Moment of Moog Ken Soper"

Hey Ken!
I knew it! : ) ha ha!
Thanks so much for keeping a gig 'look-out' for me. In the meantime, doing a lot of studio stuff, thank the good Lord! : )
Don't know if Joe will remember me, but tell him I said hello! Who else is out with Joe, now?
Thanks for mentioning the Keyboard Magazine interview. For a 'small-town Texas gal", I was very proud of even getting MENTIONED in Keyboard Magazine! : )
Keep in touch!

Hey Ken!
I bet anything we have probably met on the road before. I played a couple of gigs with Steve Holy and have done many shows with Joe D. and Mark C. Just wanted to stop by and add you as a friend!
Up until March, I was part of the all-girl band, Cowboy Crush. Am no longer a 'performing member' of CC and am looking for another tour for this year.
I would appreciate any word on gigs that you can throw my way!
Thanks Ken!
(Oh, BTW....VERY cool about 'the Moment of Moog' !! : )

Thanks for the reply Ken, I think Lynn played for him probably about 10 years ago. I'm not sure though.
