Distributed by Icon/Fontana North/Universal in Canada AND Rounder Europe, artists Joanne & Haley MYROL are making new roots roads for their music in the USA charts with their debut radio single release "SOMEWHERE INSIDE".
Those who dare to be different are different and MYROL- a mother/daughter duo, use their music as a challenge to move forward through their original tunes, love-of-lyric, and comfortable harmony. MYROL’s music isn't necessarily "commercially based" but their music cuts a wide path and does cross over quite comfortably. They offer a grass roots level music which is considered by some - new and refreshing. But their songs still have a certain hint of comfortable ‘old’ familiarity. Proof is.... they are being played on commercial, college, public and internet radio stations all over.
MYROL lives by the adage, "We go where the music takes us", and so far they have been on five European tours - have performed in Australia and New Zealand - and were invited to perform as the featured artist at Visagino’s Country Music Festival in Lithuania for 30,000 people.
More intimate performances include songwriter’s stages with - to name a few great iconic songwriters - Valdy, Colin Linden (of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings/Brother Where Art Thou), Emerson Drive, Ray Stephenson (co-writes with Guy Clark) and just recently was the opener for Brad Johner and Stephen Fearing. MYROL has performed in Nashville in the legendary Bluebird Cafe, Billy Block's Western Beat, and was named Western Beat Magazine’s 2005 Group of the Year in Nashville.
Co-songwriting credits include works with Fred Eaglesmith, Nashville’s Tim Taylor (penned hits for Jason McCoy, Duanne Steele) and good friend Gord Matthews, who also picks guitar with MYROL on a regular basis (Gord played guitar for Canadian Royalty – Ian Tyson and kd lang for several years) . MYROL’s most recent songwriting accomplishment is – placing 2nd in the 16th ANNUAL BILLBOARD WORLD SONGWRITING COMPETITION in the Americana/Folk category and being nominated three years in a row for The Calgary Folk Festival Songwriting Competition and this year winning in two categories for 'The Best Alberta Song' and one for 'The Best Song' in 2008 .

Hopefully we'll make it back there this year for a showcase. We're getting ready to release our new album, and I'd like to do some shows down there. We have played the Bluebird, Billy Block's and a few of the other places in town. I love to hang downtown and hear the good music, though. Maybe we'll catch up with you all' next visit...take care...
