From a very early age, Morgan has been engulfed in music and performing. At 13, Morgan performed the “National Anthem” at the Little League World Series for millions of televised viewers. She was invited back to sing the following year. Morgan went on to attend many intensive performing courses, including New York University’s Broadway Program at the Tisch School and Bernard/Columbia’s Summer Acting Program. In 2002, Morgan acquired an internship with NYC-based company, Red House Music. She recorded many commercial jingles and her first original track, “Be Here Now.” In 2004, Morgan co-wrote and produced a 5 song demo with Lytle Henry Productions, teaming up with producers/songwriters Mark Henry and Marc Cirpit. In her hometown of Williamsport PA, Morgan performed all over the community. In the same year, Morgan met her mentor, Dave Braumbaugh, and joined the Uptown Music Collective. She starred in productions of “Tommy,” and “Grease,” and played Janis Joplin in “Woodstock.” She also joined Dave’s band, Rubber Soul, a raw blues group that played locally. After having been immersed in the passionate music, Morgan discovered herself drifting quickly toward the blues and soul. She found guidance in the music of Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Eva Cassidy, Janis Joplin, among others. Her creativity and inspiration has been influenced ever since. Morgan attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston from 2006-07. She started the Morgan Ashley Band and played gigs all over Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania. Morgan soon attracted the ears of Sony Music – Nashville producer, Clay Bradley. With his support, she moved to Tennessee and began her major in Music Business at Belmont University. Morgan instantly found her place in southern rock, blasting a new and persuasive voice all over town. Her creative, heart-felt sound earned her a BMI contract in 2007. She has performed for Puckett’s Saturday Radio Show for Third Coast Music and was a featured act for the Multiple Sclerosis Fundraiser with Grant Randolph. Morgan has worked diligently to perfect her song-writing talents, having collaborated with such writers as Bobby Carmichael, Kelly Sullivan, Lisa Carver, John McElroy, Lanyg Martine Jr., April Christianson, Isabeau Miller, Lenny Manchello, Mike Ulivila and others. Under the direction of producer, Jason Wall, Morgan has recently finished recording her newest album at The House of David in Nashville. Morgan currently interns for Big Machine Records, learning the inner mechanics of the country music business. She has had the opportunity to work for major events such as, Tin Pan South, Fan Fair, CMT Awards, ASCAP Awards, Sound and Speed, CMAs, and the 2008 Grammy Awards. Morgan currently has representation with Rick Savitt of the Savitt Law Firm in NYC. With great determination and an endless love of music, Morgan has finally found the perfect mix of southern rock and blues, with a touch of country. She spends much of her time shaping and sculpting her music, playing and writing at every chance. Her honest and poignant sound hooks the listener, channeling her powerful emotion to whoever will lend an ear. Combined with her passion and perseverance, Morgan has found a place in Nashville’s heart. Morgan is an excellent mandolin and guitar player as well as back ground vocalist if any one has opportunities. She was recently asked to go on the Brad Paisley with Crystal Shawanda, but as everyone knows sometimes a gig just isn't worth it! So please let me know! Thanks and god bless...
