- Cellist Paul Nelson is rapidly gaining acceptance in Christian music as a live performer and studio soloist. He brilliantly combines traditional, classical technique with a unique, modern sensibility.
In addition to touring with Steve Green on his 2004 Woven in Time tour, he has performed with Alison Krauss, Ron Block, Jill Philips, Fernando Ortega, Sean Watkins (of Nickel Creek), Ashley Cleveland, Mark Slaughter, Twila Paris, FFH, By the Tree, Andrew Peterson, David Huntsinger, Shelley Jennings and country artist Lori Morgan.
In the studio, Paul has recorded with artists such as Jill Philips, Big Daddy Weave, Barlow Girl, Plumb, Kathy Troccoli, Jeremy Camp, Andrew Peterson, Joel Engle, Kelly Minter, FFH, Jeff Deyo and others.
Paul is a featured performer on AMAZING GRACE: SONGS OF THE REAGAN MEMORIAL.
He also recorded jazz cello demos on Mel Bay’s Jazz Fiddle Wizard Jr. book series and has completed numerous custom projects.
Paul has had the privilege to play under conductors such as Sir David Wilcox and Donald Neuen
(Music Editor/Producer, currently working at Word Music. On the side, I write music, play cello on sessions, have two of my own CDs, transcribe/engrave music and anything else that I can do to make a living!)
