Void began working in recording studios in the winter of 1988. He started out as a general assistant for producer Ric Wake (Taylor Dayne, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion) at Cove City Sound Studios on Long Island. Within six months he moved on to become a second engineer and drum programmer on many gold and platinum recordings. He left Cove City and Wake Productions after about a year and a half to begin freelancing as a first engineer at Media Recording and The Music Palace on Long Island. While working in these studios Void began to develop his own engineering and production style. After two more years on the Island Void began working in Manhattan at such studios as The Power Station, The Hit Factory and Electric Lady Studios. Working in all of New York’s world-class studios for the next five years gave Void the opportunity to acquire more knowledge and experience in the field of audio recording and production. Since that time Void has worked with top engineers and producers such as Ray Bardani, The Bomb Squad, Tony Brown, David Gamson, Mick Guzauski, Mark Heimermann, Steve Lipson, Shep Pettibone, Nile Rogers, Glenn Rosenstein and Russ Titelman among many others.
After living in Nashville, Tennessee for eight years and building his own studio called Interzone, Void has moved back to New York and has re-established himself in the Big Apple. Void’s experiences as a twenty-one year veteran of recording enable him to work proficiently and effortlessly in any studio environment.
Void also has extensive live mixing/engineering experience having been on numerous cross-country tours with bands such as Hot Action Cop and Push Play as well as mixing at various venues since High School. Adding to his credentials, Void also recently took part in the advanced live audio classes provided by Syn-Aud-Con.
Recently Void has been achieving success as a composer having recorded and released three albums for music library companies. Void's compositions have been heard extensively on the Travel Channel, Discovery Channel and Saturday Night Live among others.
In his spare time Void enjoys traveling with his wife, studying martial arts, playing ice and inline hockey and playing tournament and cash game poker. In addition to his black belts in Kenpo and Aikido, he is a Ninja currently holding a 5th level brown belt in Ninjutsu.
