- I grew up in Illinois playing saxophone in jazz and rock bands. Moved to Murfreesboro, TN in 2000 to attend MTSU where I majored in music performance and jazz studies. After graduating, I moved to Nashville but lived on the road as I was playing sax in a nationally touring rock act. After getting road hardened, I decided to quit touring in 2008 and stay in town to focus on songwriting and playing more local shows.
