I was in Nashville from 1971-2003, first as a bass player for a southern gospel group, then as a guitarist, college student and engineer-producer. In 1980 I went to work at Music Man which seemed to define me as a retailer in many people's eyes, and my playing took a back seat. In 1988 I opened Sam's Music which grew very fast and became a leading national retail store. After many great years, things changed rather abruptly and the store closed. I got back to playing, writing and producing, and kept my feet in sales as a rep. That took me to Florida, where I now have my studio, play, write and produce. I have opened up a small guitar shop as well ( www.Island-Music.com )
