I won't argue that the ProTools is a great addition. But DON'T GIVE UP that 2" machine!

The G5 is a good deal, it sounds like. The real key is enough ram, and make sure you have a second drive in there for recording. I think you can fit 1TB in there now, which is insanely more than you'll ever need.

I'm assuming you'll get an HD setup? If not, then the G5 really isn't enough to do a major session on, using LE. Also won't interface well with your big gear. It'd be more like a side setup. But candidly, I've never really worked on PT with a major console. Just something I've not had a chance to put my hands on yet.

Take care,

Pete.

Hey. Thanks for the note back.

My brother in law is Tim Stewart. Family is from KY originally, but lives in Manchester TN now. My sister-in-law also works at PCC. Both of them are lifers there.

You asked about business. Busy as can be. Amazingly, enough work to keep me busy for the next six months. I'll tell you more soon.

Cheers,

Pete.

Turns out my brother in law is a big fan of yours! He's in pensacola. Works at PCC. What a trip! I said, "ummm, I know him.". One of those funny moments in life where people think you're full of bull. LOL.

Hi Tommy...thanks for being a fan..and thanks for the kind words..The show in Florida will not be our usual full band show I don't believe.. It will probably be a broken-down acoustic version..with just a couple of guitars..probably no drums.. not a regular Shenandoah show but hey,, would love to see ya anyway..

Hey Tommy your studio is really beautiful. Unfortunately Oregon is a"fur piece" from Panama City, Florida! However, if a gig or two comes up in the area for sure I'll stop by. I wish you great success with the studio and the music you're creating. It's a different business than it used to be...a lot of changes...some good, some not so good.

Stay well, and keep in touch.
Your friend,
T.O.
