Travis + Julie Ford Theater Project @ Rockin' The Rain Music Fest at Limelight

May 30, 2010 from 11am to 7pm
The saddest day of our lives since moving to Nashville was last wed, 5/5/2010. Attached with this email are pics showing the remnants of the Ford Theater, where countless legends and many dignitaries have once stood. It was heartbreaking for us to see all these little pieces of history laying on the sidewalk, ready to be thrown away. Music City Waste hauled most of the pieces off 2 days later, but I was able to retrieve 14 pieces lying at the bottom of the empty dumpster, thanks to a couple…See More

"I'd agree with this too. The fact is it has to sound like you have a fantastic voice and tons of talent to get a deal today. People want their music perfect. I remember imperfect songs that sound really good. The end result is people falling…"

"haha sounds kind of itchy :) the use of melisma is not a new thing, and I agree that some tunes absolutely call for it and in some cases the song wouldn't even be the same without it, as it gets written in. In fact, even Robert Johnson used it…"

Greg Hopkins replied to Travis + Julie's discussion The Over-singing Epidemic.....
"Not only "belting it out", but I hear a LOT of melisma these days. What ever happened to tasteful embellishment? Many singers seem to think that because they hear every-phrase-melisma on american Idol and in todays pop charts that singing…"

Profile Information

Occupation:
Music For The People Duo
About Me:
Travis is from Houston, TX. Julie is from Dallas, TX.

Travis + Julie are Texans. YEE HAW!!

Met in Nashville through a mutual friend at Broadway Brewhouse, downtown Nashville. Travis + Julie talked on the phone from there on out.

A couple months later, Julie pulled up to her newly rented house and called Travis, Travis arrived 30 minutes later. Movers arrived, Travis helped out. The movers we're scared of Julie's hairless cats. Travis left, returned a hour or so later with everything he owned. Imagine that, some random dude moving in with you, in a new town. But strangely, Julie felt safe. Her friend on the phone asked,"So do you want me to contact the police?", after Julie said, "This guy is just moving his stuff in!!"

Travis thought they had an understanding that he was going to move in.

So that was it. Travis + Julie have been dating ever since. They started dating the day Travis moved in.

1/20/10...it'll be three years!!!

"Moon Girl is, as far as I’m concerned, is one of the best collections of music to come around in a long time in this town. It’s like the best of Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground (listen to, Loaded) and country music all rolled into one! I mean that as a high compliment. They’re pushing the boundaries and I like it! Their sound is totally unique and it’s evident by the way they approach the music in this album that they believe in their sound … you can tell it comes from the heart!"

I am familiar with Colemill I used to rent from them about 30 years ago. They had a turbo 210 that I flew for a while. Also started my IFR with them with a CFII named Pat Gregory that may still be there. He was their Chief Pilot for a while. There was a guy named Bandy that ran the front desk that I am sure is dead by now he was in his 70's then. And there was another CFI I remember that was ex military seems like his first name was Nells or something like that. Like the Colemill Bearcat 310 coversion, wouldn't mind having one of those.

Who's King Air's? I have been flying some but not nearly enough. I have a Super Viking in a hanger at Tune but it's sometimes 3-4 weeks between trips. I have been looking at twins. Would really like to have an F Model Aztec.

Thanks for the add!
