Profile Information

Occupation:
BMI Music Publisher & BMI Writer
Company Name:
Nobody One Publishing BMI
About Me:
I was born and raised in Vancouver WA. Started writing music in 1970. Being an ex-truck driver, I had numerous occasions to write about. Came to Nashville in 1990, and had 5 songs published in the first week. Unfortunately, the company I signed with, only tried to promote 1 song, which at the time was one of the only 2 that were recorded in the studio. When my 1 yr contract expired, they wanted me to sign for 3 more, and I declined. It was about that time that I realized that I could become my own publisher as a BMI Affiliate, for a very modest rate. Since then, with the exception of 1 my sister wrote, I've only published my own music. As far as promoting my music is concerned, I played 'Writer's Nights' for the first three years that I was here; and just sort of got burned out on it. I've entered a few Songwriting Contest, and won $35. I've never considered myself to be a great singer, although I believe I can sing well enough to accurately document my compositions. It would be very gratifying to gain a little recognition in Music City.
I did however write and record a song in 1988, that was accepted as an Official Contribution the 1989 Clark County Washington Centennial, by the Centennial committee. If you visit my website, wait and listen to the entire songs, to give all the pages to adequate time to load, you can see it all. The 2 song that obviously were not done in the 'studio', I recorded on a 4 channel cassette recorder, with headphones on the 4th floor of a highrise apartmemt house.

Crash Test Dummy!

Posted on August 6, 2009 at 7:21pm 0 Comments

After recovering all my lost "stuff", after my second pc meltdown, is now something I'm not as worried about, as I might have been earlier. It's doable, just a little agrivating. It cleared a lot of clutter off my desktop, and keeps my brain from getting too foggy. Last week my pc crashed again! When It asked me to restart, after the Windows Update finished installing, it closed, and then I got a black screen with a message telling me to insert the Windows Installation Disk and restart. I didn't… Continue

Missing music on MySpace

Posted on July 1, 2009 at 5:39pm 0 Comments

After signing in a week or two ago, I found that my songs that were on MySpace, were no longer there. I was able to upload my video succesfully, but try as I may, I have yet to find a way to upload any of my songs. The instrustions concerning uploading songs will let me upload anybody else's music, but none of mine. Has there been a change in policies, or is there some fee that I'm unaware of? If somebody has any ideas on the subject, I would certainly apreciate it . My MySpace address is:… Continue

Copyrighting a collection of works

Posted on June 9, 2009 at 10:30pm 2 Comments

I received info today, that The Library of Congress signed for receiving my Songbook (collection of lyrics). It could take up to 6 mo, or so I'm told, to receive confirmation on my copyrights. I have a copy of the postmark date, so from what I've been told, I'm legally covered.

Oh, I sent a couple more songs to another radio station today. Sooner or later, in one way or another, I'm gonna hear one of my songs on the radio. If I'd started doing this twenty years ago, when I first got here,… Continue

My publishing company has worked with this tune plugger for 6 plus years and she is well respected and on the up and up. I would never recommend anyone shady and believe me there are plenty out there.

If you need the name of a good song plugger I know one. Also, my old publisher could help but I am sure he would want some of the publishing if that be the case so I am not sure if that works for you or not. Anyway, I will be happy to help if I can.

You are exactly right. I have been around the biz for a long time and it really is being in the right place at the right time, friend of a friend, etc. I met a ton of good people being a staff writer through the years as well as entertainers. There are a lot of down to earth good hearted people in the industry and some not so good. LOL Take care and thanks for being my friend.
