Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not in a good mood this weekend and Nashville is pretty much at a standstill. To that end, the 9 PM show at the Listening Room featuring Mark Stephen Jones, Mary Hartman and me has been rescheduled for Feb. 27th at 9 PM. It'll be that much better with newer songs and lots of surprises lined up!

The Red Rooster at 1530 Demonbreun, every Monday night!!! It's near the roundabout. This town needs more venues for all the great musicians to play, with people that care! The needed function, such as the Monday Night Blues Jam, has plenty of free parking and no cover, what's not to love!! The place has been hoppin' since it opened.

If you're looking for a female vocalist (lead and/or BGV) for your recordings, I have created a vocal compilation mp3 (4:48 long) featuring several song clips, and it is a good representation of my vocal skills in several genres. To find more samples of my vocal work, BGV work with male and female artists, piano work, string arrangements - as well as samples…

Performing artists rise in my list of favorites based on one thing: Do they get my emotional attention?
There is a reason that Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne and John Mayer don't move me in live performance like Bono, Sting and Mat Kearney do. The difference is surely NOT in brilliant, creative musicianship.. all six are full of that. It's not in the magic of their edited recorded vocal performances we hear on the radio in which we understand almost every word. The difference is that…

You’re a Real Musician When:
You realize that the cheers from the audience after a particularly
difficult passage are for a sports play on the big screen TV over the
bar, and that in fact, no one is listening to you.
When the gig you drove 200 miles for to make $100, and had to pay for a
hotel room, is later referred to as your "summer tour".
When your most sincere, heartfelt comments are made by people that are
drunk and who won’t remember…

{For Immediate Release: Nashville, TN} As Stephen Cochran and his amazing New Country Outlaws band performed for a packed New Year's Eve crowd at Nashville Center Stage, he had but one goal in mind; to entertain the packed house and make sure the U.S. troops got some good cheer through the webcast he provided them. Cochran, an Iraq and Afghanistan Marine vet, was severely wounded in 2005 on his last tour, but has become unstoppable in his determination to advocate for veterans and U.S. troops.…
