Starting Over

I never thought I was deep. I've grown up a bit since I hit this city with my pregnant wife in 1984. I left it because I thought I was done with it. Now I realize that it wasn't done with me.

I'm alone now ... my wife and I have separated. I've chosen to not take sides against anyone. I've chosen to love from a distance and help myself learn how to heal and find out who I am. GHERM! Humble thoughts for all of us.

Ok, I know I've got a hold of this issue like a pitbull with a rag doll. But I'm having fun with it. PLEASE TAKE WHAT I SAY WITH A GRAIN OF SALT (or sand, as is the case in Florida).

Since I've been on this site, I was re-familiarized with the term I'd come to know and love so well as a young man in Nashville back in 1988.

1. The Urban Dictionary is wrong when it says it started in 1990 at Starwood in Antioch. Funny as that may be, it's wrong.

Back to the River

I went through a pretty rough divorce a few years ago. You can probably tell that from my music. Writing has been a big part of the healing for me in processing all that heartache…it became a place to put the pain so I didn’t have to carry it around with me anymore.

A while ago, on a cold February day, I went through a very cathartic exercise in forgiveness. It was completely spontaneous – I just woke up in the morning and knew exactly what I needed to do. I’ve wanted to write… Continue

Tin Pan South & A Cherry Red Strat

The past two weeks have been an absolute whirlwind of activity for me! It all started last Tuesday with the first official “Dog Days of Summer” benefit concert at the Rutledge here in Nashville. Rachel Proctor, Bruce Wallace and I each played a full band set to raise funds for the local “Camp Chaos” dog rescue organization that we’re involved in.

A few days before the show, I decided that rather than staying in my comfort zone and playing my acoustic guitar the whole night, I… Continue

Newbie to NMP

So I am excited to have found this website while researching. I didn't know that it was in existance, yet I have several people that I know on it!

Now I am on myspace, facebook, linkedin, nashville music pros, and probably several more that I don't remember. As if I have the time to check all of those!!

Myspace is about the only other one that I check with regularity, and it is mainly to check the Sharkbait Studios page and delete all the pornstars that think that the… Continue
