Thank You Judy Whiting @ the Country Music Hall Of Fame!!

Thank you Judy once again!

.........For your detailed efforts and fine work in organizing and promoting the Steel Guitar Showcase at the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum this past Sunday Nov 23, 2008. This was one fine day for me and it helps when all the busy work is done and I can just focus on "playing Steel Guitar." I certainly got the impression that everyone that attended enjoyed it...but many people don't realize how much work goes into the planning,… Continue

NEW!!! Detroit Music Notes Interview!!!

The THREE KINGS (also known in circles as 'THE Dream Team') is a very popular, top call; Nashville based rhythm section consisting of KURT ALLISON (guitars), TULLY KENNEDY (bass) and RICH REDMOND (Drums and Percussion). The key to their success is their "strength in numbers", "us against the world" mentality. Together since 2000 they have toured and/or recorded with some of the biggest names in popular music: JEWEL, STAN LYNCH, LILA McCANN, MICHAEL PETERSON, ROBBIE NEVIL, EMILY WEST, JUDE COLE,… Continue

Rich's Rockin' Roadies Interview!!!

What is your favorite song of Jason's to play?I enjoy "Amarillo Sky". The tempo is really greasy and deep. Over the years, the guys and I have added more muscle to it's frame and we play it the way Zeppelin or Bad Company would have played it! You guys are like brothers and brother's and brothers have a tendency to disagree. Who do you disagree with the most?I tend to have arguments with Tully, but that's just because we have been playing together for 8 years now! The music usually improves as… Continue

Help me break in my studio

It's November 20th, 2008 and my recording studio has finally swallowed my house. My living room is now dedicated to my drums and tracking. My second bedroom is now the control room. John Prestia is helping me debug the system (as he has done in the past). I am excited to start tracking projects again.

In case you've never recorded with me, I usually engineer and drum at the same time. My Alesis HD-24 sits to my left and the other band members are spread throughout the house. Once the… Continue

Where Everybody Knows Your Name...

When I come home cold, and tired. It truly is good to warm my bones beside the fire. Because I surely was uncertain of my future after coming home from the road. Not so much from a monetary standpoint. But, How was I going to stay productive? Eyes on the Prize, and all that good jazz grunge.

I am a newly-wed so there is also that aspect of I've been home more than two weeks in a row. But, We're still breathing so... I think she likes me (I think...) As far as the "career… Continue
