People keep asking this question: Will social networking replace the big machine of record label style marketing?
I say NO. If it were doing so, the question would not need to be asked. Period. But I'll throw in my 2 cents worth, and let's see where the conversation goes. Stick with me through this. I'm going to try to use some parallel examples within other businesses.
Typically, if you're in any business, you are manufacturing a product to sell, or you are selling a… Continue

Wow!What a great month this has been! I really thought with the economy and all the drab news that my work schedule would have been slowed to a near stall, but the opposite is happening. My recording session work has picked up and I've made a lot of new friernds as well as clients. Worked on some gospel CD projects and songwriter demos. Got to work with Alan O'Day in the studio, he was the writer/ singer of the #1 Billboard hit "Undercover Angel" and… Continue

I have uploaded a new song. It is called Jenna's Journey. It is in memory of a beautiful seventeen year old girl who passed away this past September. She had been battling a painful type of cancer since she was 15. If you have facebook, you can read her mom and dads journal entries for the past two years. The group is called Jenna's Journey.
Lion has meticulously spent the past several days and nights writing and recording. His doctors still insist for him to stay in bed and rest, but it has become clear that Lion refuses to let anything deter him from staying true to himself and his work which he loves. His knee is healing phenomenally well as he continues intense physical therapy multiple times a week. Trust me, Lion will be walking again, and much sooner than you think. It's just… Continue

This years SUMMER NAMM SHOW 2009held at the NASHVILLE CONVENTION CENTER was a rousing success, I feel. The company I represent demonstrated their high quality line of instruments. Some major vendors where absent as in Peavy, Gibson and Fender, but hey, made room for the rest to sell and party, sell & party we did!
Our booth was #1248 with the whole Morrell crew from Bristol, TN and the awesome instruments. Recently, I recieved a full endorsement… Continue

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but one show I do like to watch is Nightline on ABC which comes on right after the local news. Earlier this week, Nightline did a story entitled “Face Lift for a Job Lift”. Now anyone who knows me well knows that I am VERY squeamish when it comes to watching surgery on television, especially plastic surgery. I get queasy just hearing people talk about it, much less seeing it on TV. But I had to watch this story (through fingers covering my eyes) because of the reason… Continue
I can't even begin to tell you how many times iv'e been told "Welcome to the music business." It's usually while I am curled up in the fetal position crying my eyes out. I found it so interesting when I first started coming to Nashville with my big eyes on being a big star, how often I'd hear this. I was young, I had a great investor, I had talent, I had paid some major dues, I had opened for huge acts like Terri Clark and Keith Urban, and I had a support group to die for. How could I go wrong?… Continue

Shenandoah at the "Sticks" Music Festival in Auburn, Al/April 18/09
After just hitting the bunks and not getting much sleep..we awoke in Auburn, Al at the Sticks Music Festival. Our brains were still foggy from the late show Friday night..as we crawled down the bus hall towards the coffee pot.
The sun was out but the air was still cool as I climbed off the bus and walked to the stage to do a soundcheck. Folks were already gathering in front of the stage ..even at that… Continue

Stepping out in faith is a scary thing, but stepping out in faith into today's music industry might be viewed by some as absolutely terrifying. 2007 and 2008 were our years for horrific flying leaps and unabashed stepping out of our comfort zones. We did this as we courageously developed Myers Brothers Entertainment, LLC and attempted to bring our business onto the corporate grid. This was not without much help, of course, from attorneys, investors, and advisors who shared their wisdom and… Continue

Here is an e-mail we sent out yesterday, complete with a picture of one of the buses bearing our message. Let me know if this comes through, complete with picture.
God bless you brother. It was so good to speak with you again.
