Nashville Music Pros

The month of June was rough. Last week with the death of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson, I don't think that the US or the world for that matter has seen such in the entertainment industry. Others that passed this month was Billy Mays, Gale Storm, Charlie Mariano, Bob Bogle, then to hear yesterday that Karl Malden passed just left me thinking about how the elders use to say that death comes in 3's. Our hearts go out to all families in their time of bereavement. The most tragic entertainment loss for me to this point has to be Michael Jackson. To see the information come in "Michael Jackson massive heart attack to Michael Jackson has passed away" in a matter of hours left the whole world speechless. His music will last forever, my favorite song "Heaven Can Wait" followed by "Human Nature, Lady In My Life, Break Of Dawn, and Never Can Say Goodbye". There was a side of him if you listened to those songs he definitely was talking about a special someone in his life at those times. The music world is loosing the true meaning of music because personally I feel the industry is too much in the right now instead of what will last forever. The artists that really need to be in the forefront can't seem to get rotation, marketing, and promotion needed to help them sustain for the future or become icons. I don't think we will ever see the likes of these icon stars again until the labels start supporting good quality hits again and the radio/internet stations play them. What are your thoughts, who do you think we have left, or who do you think will be the next global icon? Post your comments on NJCTV.com, Facebook, Myspace, and other place you may see this blog.

Next week, my thoughts on the Gov. of South Carolina (yeah baby)
