I find it interesting that you're in the real estate biz, as I was an attorney for 25 yrs! I just retired when I moved back to Nashville in August of last year. But music was my first career.
Oh, I see. I've certainly written my share of verse/chorus/bridge-type songs, but I seem to have locked into AABA ("Yesterday" by McCartney) forms, lately. I also like the verse-with-tag-final-line form, too.
Music style? or computer file format? If music, I have a wide background and ability to play in many current popular styles, so I tend to write in several styles. I graduated from Berklee College of Music as a jazz composition major, in 1971.
As I mentioned, I do some "Joni Mitchell"-ish things, some like Clapton or Delbert McClinton or Bonnie Raitt, some have a soul music influence. So I do some folk/acoustic, some electric. I led an electric blues band for a couple years, so I have all that guitar stuff, too!
Hi, Andy: Nice stuff. I lived in Brentwood, too, for 12 years. Now I'm in Antioch. Anyway, we might be able to do some songs together, based on what I heard here. Have you written words to pre-existing tracks before?
