I wish you the best in 2010
I won't argue that the ProTools is a great addition. But DON'T GIVE UP that 2" machine!
The G5 is a good deal, it sounds like. The real key is enough ram, and make sure you have a second drive in there for recording. I think you can fit 1TB in there now, which is insanely more than you'll ever need.
I'm assuming you'll get an HD setup? If not, then the G5 really isn't enough to do a major session on, using LE. Also won't interface well with your big gear. It'd be more like a side setup. But candidly, I've never really worked on PT with a major console. Just something I've not had a chance to put my hands on yet.
Turns out my brother in law is a big fan of yours! He's in pensacola. Works at PCC. What a trip! I said, "ummm, I know him.". One of those funny moments in life where people think you're full of bull. LOL.
Hi Tommy...thanks for being a fan..and thanks for the kind words..The show in Florida will not be our usual full band show I don't believe.. It will probably be a broken-down acoustic version..with just a couple of guitars..probably no drums.. not a regular Shenandoah show but hey,, would love to see ya anyway..
Hey Tommy your studio is really beautiful. Unfortunately Oregon is a"fur piece" from Panama City, Florida! However, if a gig or two comes up in the area for sure I'll stop by. I wish you great success with the studio and the music you're creating. It's a different business than it used to be...a lot of changes...some good, some not so good.
Good to hear from you, I hope all is well. If you know anyone that is looking for a very nice Baldwin L model I have one that I recently bought in an auction from Channel 2 in Nashville. It's the piano that was used to shoot all of the Gospel Music Jubilee shows. I put an additional $2,500 in it to spruce it up. It is a 1970 m0del.
Hey Tommy, nice to meet you on here. When did Darryl play the Ocean Opry? I have been playing with him for 2 yrs now and starting my 3rd season and your right he is a great singer and has increditably great pitch night after night and he is also a great employer and friend and there are not very many people like him out there. You have a beautiful studio and I would love to see it sometime when I am in your neck of the woods.Take care and hit me back when you can. Tom
I will do. I come your way from time to time. We pay visits to family in pensicola quite often, and go over to Mobile for business, so I'll give you a shout when we're heading up there. I'd love to see your place.
Likewise, if you're in South Florida any time soon, give me a shout.
