I won't argue that the ProTools is a great addition. But DON'T GIVE UP that 2" machine!

The G5 is a good deal, it sounds like. The real key is enough ram, and make sure you have a second drive in there for recording. I think you can fit 1TB in there now, which is insanely more than you'll ever need.

I'm assuming you'll get an HD setup? If not, then the G5 really isn't enough to do a major session on, using LE. Also won't interface well with your big gear. It'd be more like a side setup. But candidly, I've never really worked on PT with a major console. Just something I've not had a chance to put my hands on yet.

Hey Tommy your studio is really beautiful. Unfortunately Oregon is a"fur piece" from Panama City, Florida! However, if a gig or two comes up in the area for sure I'll stop by. Good to hear from you, I hope all is well. If you know anyone that is looking for a very nice Baldwin L model I have one that I recently bought in an auction from Channel 2 in Nashville. It's the piano that was used to shoot all of the Gospel Music Jubilee shows. I put an additional $2,500 in it to spruce it up. It is a 1970 m0del.
